Frequently Asked Questions
Does the signer need a DocuSign account? No. Recipients can sign documents via the link sent to their email without needing a DocuSign account of their own.
Where is the signed document stored? Signed documents are stored securely within leafplanner alongside an audit trail that records signer name, email, timestamp, and certificate details.
What happens if a signing session expires? If a signing link expires before a recipient completes signing, you can send a new request from the document's tracking view.
Can I sign on a mobile device or tablet? Yes. The DocuSign signing flow works across devices and browsers. The signing experience opens in a separate tab, which is compatible with mobile browsers.
Can I cancel a signing request after it's been sent? Yes. Contact your Concierge or Administrator, who can void the envelope from the tracking dashboard.
What if I don't see the DocuSign button in the toolbar? Ensure your account has signing permissions enabled. If the button is not visible, contact your administrator or reach out to leafplanner to add DocuSign to your subscription.
Audit Trail & Security
Every signing event in leafplanner is backed by a DocuSign-generated audit trail, which includes:
- Signer name and email address
- IP address at time of signing
- Timestamp for each signature event
- Certificate of Completion
This ensures your documents are legally binding and traceable within the platform.
